Walk on the Wild Side

The South Devon region is blessed with some of the most spectacular coast and countryside in Europe and the first-ever "Walk on the Wild Side" walking festival offers the perfect way to experience it in like-minded company.

Guided walks featured in the programme include a Geopark-themed trail at Bishop's Walk, a moorland ramble at Haytor, two "Walks with Carter" in Paignton and an estuary stroll at Dittisham.

Not only have the walks been planned so that the participants can enjoy South Devon's stunning coast and countryside, walkers will also learn about the fascinating history and heritage of the region. For example, a walk across the beautiful Babbacombe coastline will reveal intriguing stories of renowned historic figures, while an evening stroll at Berry Head will showcase native flora and fauna, including the rare white rock rose

The walks, which are mainly circular, range from a short stroll along Paignton's seafront to a long and challenging hike over Dartmoor's wild and magical Tors. Some walks will be subject to a small charge, while on others, a small donation will be gratefully received.
